Getting information became more complicated now than before revolution: mass media representatives on free media
Only mass media head may say how much mass media is free today, editor-in-chief of Hraparak paper Armine Ohanyan said at the Post-Revolutionary Challenges of Media: Expectations and Actions discussion today.
The comment came to the statement of Armenia’s Prime Minister that the press in Armenia has never been as free as it is today.
Ohanyan stressed that they had opportunity of free expression since their establishment.
“Hraparak paper is being published since 2008 and during these years there was no case when we could not write what we wanted. In this regard nothing has changed. As to other regards, I can say that after 2018 revolution our work has been complicated due to more difficulties in getting information. In 2018 we find information with more difficulty than we did it before,” she said, adding that no matter how much the young authorities come up with statements about democracy, they are not for transparency and apply all possible methods to impede their work.
