My Step has no final decision over applying to Venice Commission: Lilit Makunts

The political forces urging to boycott the referendum or not to participate in it, are carrying out the “no” campaign, head of My Step faction Lilit Makunts told the reporters today.

“Despite the statement that “No” campaign is not being carried out, the political forces calling to boycott or not participate in the elections are carrying out the “no” propaganda. It is unclear for me why they do not assume the political responsibility and are not carrying out campaign,” Makunts said.

Asked why the draft of constitutional amendments has not been sent to the Venice Commission for getting conclusion and whether it is agreed with distrust toward the Commission Makunts said,

“What we are trying to do is to restore the model established by the 2015 constitutional changes which currently does not work. The current Constitutional Court does not act as a model set by the international structures. I must say that we do not have final political decision in this regard, but we still have time,” she said, adding that uncertainty raises as they are dealing with already approved package and just restore this already approved package.
