Border with Iran should have already been closed: expert on cases of coronavirus in Iran
As of yesterday 4 people died and other 18 are diagnosed with coronavirus, expert Karen Vrtanesyan wrote on Facebook, adding that one person with coronavirus has been discovered in Beirut where he arrived from Iranian Qom, the epicenter of the virus in Iran.
“The WHO is concerned with 4 people having died in just 3 days from coronavirus, which means that it has unnoticeably spread so far. The logical consequence of it is that Iraq and Kuwait closed the entrance for citizens of Iran,” he wrote.
“I think it would have been right to close the border already from yesterday. The issues of quarantine must also be solved speedily as we have no guarantees that it has not already reached Armenia. By the way, we were lucky that the border with Turkey is already closed while we have one month till Novruz, plus it is not tourism season and the move of people is very small than it could have been. But the border should have already been closed,” Karen Vrtanesyan wrote.
