Methods of threats will not work with Armenia: Armenia’s FM on Azerbaijan’s attacks
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan described yesterday’s actions of the Azerbaijani side as “extremely worrying.”
“As we know quite well the element of reduction of escalation risks is the most significant in the whole package of negotiations,” Mnatsakanyan said at the joint press conference with his Slovak counterpart Miroslav Lajčák in Yerevan today.
He stressed that the growth of risk of escalation will not allow to register real progress in the peace talks.
“We had registered an important achievement during the 2019 – less cases of escalation, we have a good example of applying direct line. It is very essential to preserve it as well as to maintain the less risks of escalation,” the minister said.
Mnatsakanyan stressed the necessity of clear understanding of the developments.
“I understand that there was a wounded which is very worrying and unacceptable. In our turn, we will continue proceeding with our agenda,” he said.
The minister stressed the importance of not allowing any risk of escalation as the danger and the methods of threats of danger will not work and will be strictly denied by the Armenian and Artsakh sides.
Yesterday the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of Armenian positions wounding a serviceman.
