Case against Serzh Sargsyan has political pre-context: Ara Babloyan

Former chairman of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan expects justice from the court examining the case of Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan.

“I think that Serzh Sargsyan cannot be subjected to responsibility as he is not the person to commit such deed. I know Serzh Sargsyan very well. If there was a flaw in the tender, those responsible for its conduction must be held responsible,” Babloyan said.

As to the circumstance that the Special Investigation Service says Serzh Sargsyan ordered the replacement of the company, Babloyan said, “The SIS says that Babloyan committed a crime in the election of Hrayr Tovmasyan as CC chairman, which is completely groundless,” Babloyan said, adding that five-volume of materials of his case contain no word of him being guilty in anything.

He claimed that the involvement of Serzh Sargsyan in the case has political pre-context.

“I know Serzh Sargsyan very well, he would not have interfered into any case,” he said.
