Yerevan court denies defense’s motion to recuse prosecutor in Serzh Sargsyan’s case
The Yerevan court of first instance denied today the defense's motion to recuse Arsen Martirosyan, the prosecutor in the criminal case against Armenia’s third President Serzh Sargsyan and several other.
“The court has ruled to deny the recuse motion,” judge Vahe Misakyan said.
The next court hearing is scheduled for March 26 at 3pm.
The motion to recuse was filed yesterday by Serzh Sargsyan’s lawyer Ruben Hakobyan.
Special Investigation Service declared about charge filed against Serzh Sargsyan on December 4, 2019.
According to the official press release, during his term in office, third president Serzh Sarsgayn using his official position organized the appropriation of 489,160,310 AMD in 2013.
Former minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, owner of Flesh company Barsegh Beglaryan, former official of Agriculture Ministry Gevorg Harutyunyan are also engaged in the case as defendants.
