Armenia’s position regarding Turkey’s role in Karabakh conflict settlement clear: Armenia’s FM on meeting of MInsk Group co-chairs with Turkish FM
OSCE Minsk group co-chairs have their working plan which includes meetings with Minsk Group member state officials, international organization representatives, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatskanyan said at the NA-Government Q&A asked whether Armenia’s Foreign Ministry was aware of the meeting of Turkish foreign minister and Minsk Group co-chairs.
“These meetings are not novelties and there is no extraordinary thing there. These are regular meetings and the Minsk Group co-chairs are just implementing their functions. We are working with them in conditions of mutual trust and we fully trust the Minsk Group co-chairs,” he said, adding that the Armenian side knows very well how and with what approaches they are working. There is nothing strange here.
He said it is not their first meeting.
“It is normal work, we have no concerns regarding the Minsk Group co-chairs. The difference was the comment followed by the Turkish side. If to say frankly, this comment did not contain anything new that we have not heard before. We have made a statement and naturally this approach is known to all,” he said, reminding the statement by MFA that Turkey, having non-friendly policy toward Armenia and Armenian people cannot play any role in Karabakh conflict settlement.
“Our approach is very clear in this regard. We continue implementing our goals and work with the Minsk Group co-chairs,” the minister said.
Lawmaker Taron Simonyan said he would like to share Mnatsakanyan’s calmness but cannot do it in conditions of current regional developments.
