All mass events must be delayed in created dangerous situation: Edmon Marukyan on registering three new coronavirus cases
Head of Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan urges to postpone all mass events in Armenia and close all the educational establishments amid spread of coronavirus in Armenia.
“The WHO characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic. In many European countries rallies are banned. In parallel to it three new coronavirus cases have been registered in Armenia. It is a very worrying fact and the danger multiplies if to take into account the possibility of spread. Of course we have big hope that we will nevertheless avoid this prospect but as of the moment we have what we have and to confront the challenge in a right way we need to first give right assessment to the situation,” Marukyan wrote on Facebook, adding that in the created dangerous situation it is first necessary to suspend and postpone all mass events.
He stressed that the political leadership, opposition, civil society and the people in general must now focus on neutralizing the biggest threat – coronavirus.
“This is really a matter of national security which supposes the necessity of centralization of all possible resources. Let’s assess the situation right,” he wrote, adding that their force has many times urged to suspend all the flights from Italy to Armenia but their urges remained without any consequences.
