Failure to delete published information by media during state of emergency, violation of isolation demands to be fined by 300,000 up to one million AMD
The Armenian parliament adopted in the second and final reading the amendments to the Criminal Code and Code on Administrative Offences.
The document has been sent to the president for signature.
According to it, if during a day media does not delete the publication the dissemination of which is prohibited during state of emergency a fine is being set in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 500-1000 (500,000-1,000,000 AMD).
The government though is discussing currently the issue on not applying restrictions on freedom of speech during state of emergency.
The document also sets punishment for violating the demands of isolation and self-isolation.
The draft bill sets punishment for violating the mentioned demands in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 300-500 or arrest with maximum one month, depriving of right to hold certain posts for two years.
The law sets fine in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 400-800 for a person infecting another with a dangerous disease, or one month in prison.
The same deed implemented against two or more people, pregnant woman is punished in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 800-1000 or 2-3 months of arrest. If the same deed resulted in death of a person it is punished with 3-5 arrest.
The law was backed by 117 deputies. No deputies voted against and abstained.
