New bill sets punishment for violation of demands of isolation and self-isolation
The amendments into Armenia’s legislation on Criminal and Administrative Violations define the terms “isolation” and “self-isolation.”
Isolation is exclusion of contacts of a person for prevention of spread of disease and self-isolation is separation of a person at home or at any other desired place and restricting contacts with other persons to avoid the spread of infection.
The government proposes administrative responsibility for persons violating the demands of isolation and self-isolation in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 300-500 or arrest with maximum one month, depriving of right to hold certain posts for two years.
The bill sets fine in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 400-800 for a person infecting another with a dangerous disease, or one month in prison.
The same deed implemented against two or more people, pregnant woman is punished in an amount of the minimum wage multiplied by 800-1000 or 2-3 months of arrest. If the same deed resulted in death of a person it is punished with 3-5 arrest.
