Armenia’s government offers Russia to start new talks over gas price reduction: Deputy PM Mher Grigoryan applies to Miller
Armenia’s deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has applied to the President of Gazprom company’s administration Alexey Miller for starting new negotiations over reduction of gas price supplied to Armenia.
“It is already obvious that the consequences of coronavirus will negatively affect the social-economic development of our countries which will result in reduction of the volume of consumption of energy resources,” Grigoryan said in the letter, adding that the scales of friendly relations between the two countries and their level allow and demand to voice the significant issues of the two countries on time.
“Taking into consideration the forecasts and the current situation with oil and gas prices, we consider it expedient to start new negotiations over the change of the gas price supplied to Armenia. In particular, we consider it timely to reduce the gas price for 1,000 cubic meters on the borders of Armenia and Georgia as well as start discussion of issues on setting rule of paying for gas with national currency,” Grigoryan said in the letter.
