Biggest medical center in Armenia to be re-profiled to receive coronavirus patients

Armenia’s Health Minister Arsen Torosyan speaking at the cabinet sitting today said new brought cases of coronavirus have been reported in Armenia, the circle of their contacts is being specified.

“So far nine medical institutions in Armenia are dealing with the treatment of coronavirus patients,” he said.

Torosyan said among them are Nork Infection Hospital, Institute of Orthopedics, Police hospital, Surb Astvatsamayr medical center’s maternity house, Artashat medical center, Vanadzor Infection Hospital, Kapan medical center’s separate building.

The minister said taking into consideration the growth of the number of the infected a decision has been made to re-profile the biggest medical center in Armenia – Surb Grigor Lusavorich medical center - into medical establishment for coronavirus patients.

“During the day all the patients from the intensive unit of the medical center will be transported to other medical establishments,” Torosyan said.
