Patient, 47, dies in ambulance car not being admitted in Surb Grigor Lusavorich medical center
A 47-year old patient with pneumonia was transported from Abovian town to Yerevan Surb Grigor Lusavorich medical center where he was not admitted. The doctors offered to transport the patient to Erebuni medical center, but the patient died in the ambulance car, director of Abovian medical center Vardan Manukyan told Aysor.am.
“The patient was in really bad condition, he was extremely grave. The doctors of our center have somehow stabilized his condition,” he said, adding that for saving the patient’s life a decision was made to transport him to Yerevan but Surb Grigor Lusavorich medical center did not admit the patient due to re-profiling into hospital for coronavirus patients.
“Our patient did not have coronavirus, he did not contact with infected. He was transported to Erebuni medical center but died on the way. The doctors there could not do anything to save his life,” Manukyan said.
He also stressed that the patient was not tested for coronavirus as they had all the assurances that he did not have any contacts with the infected.
Asked why the patient was not immediately taken to other hospital without losing time, Manukyan said their aim was to save the life of the patient.
“The ambulance decided not to waste time and chose the nearest hospital,” the director of the center said.
