Rima Khachatryan, Honoured Pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia passes away at 82
Rima Khachatryan, Honoured Pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia died on 10 April.
Rima Khachatryan was born on 3 April, 1938 in Yerevan. In 1960 she graduated from the Department of Biochemistry at Khachatur Abovyan State Pedagogic Institute, and in 1965 from the Agrarian Department of the Armenian State Agricultural Institute.
1961 marked the star of her career. For 55 years of an uninterrupted career extending for about 60 years, Rima Khachatryan taught in the Yerevan Basic Medical College.
Leading one of the largest trade unions of medical workers in Armenia for over five decades, Mrs. Khachatryan had a significant impact on addressing relevant education and training issues, and on representing and protecting the labour and social rights and interests of medical doctors who also teach.
During an impeccable career of several decades Rima Khachatryan made an invaluable contribution to the sustainable development of the vocational medical education in Armenia, improvement of the teaching practices and relevant teaching methodologies, and development of the mid-level medical personnel.
For her significant contributions to the development of the vocational medical education in the country Rima Khachatryan was awarded with Anania Shirakatsi Medal in 2009.
In 2017, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia Rima Khachatryan was awarded with the title of Honoured Pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia.
Rima Khachatryan also authored the textbooks “Inorganic Chemistry” in two volumes and “Analytical Chemistry”.
