With current tempo number of infected in Armenia to reach 2,500 on May 4 and 5,000 on May 21: health minister

The tempo of doubling of coronavirus cases as of now is 17 days, Armenia’s Health Minister Arsen Torosyan reports.

“If this tempo is preserved, on May 4 we will have 2,500 cases and on May 21 5,000. The issue of all of us remains the same – break the tempo of spread and circles of spread of the disease,” he said, stressing that for doing it, it is necessary to exclude the transfer of the disease from human to human by keeping the social distance, passing to distance contacts, washing hands frequently and not touching the face.

“I also want to note in particular that the process to passing to 1,000 tests daily we are doing today was rather complicated. This complicated process includes 5 main elements – specialists, devices, bio-security, logistics, electronic system. Ensuring each of these elements demanded big efforts,” he said, adding that such power will always be needed for the country to confront suchlike challenges in future as well.
