Armenia’s Gegharkunik province declares about 39 confirmed coronavirus cases
Thirty-nine coronavirus cases have been recorded in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province, governor Gnel Sanosyan reports.
“Taking into consideration a new outbreak in the province, now we have 39 confirmed cases, we must follow the instructions of commandant Tigran Avinyan and set a special entrance and exit regime for Vardenis community,” he said, adding that some restrictions will also be introduced.
The restrictions will enter into force from April 22.
The governor said the first coronavirus case has been recorded on April 17 after employee of Vardenis policlinics tested positive.
“Since that day the medical establishment is not working. Only ambulance service is working. Twelve employees of the policlinics tested positive,” he said, adding that the whole circle of contacts of the infected is being clarified, part of them have self-isolated and part isolated.
The governor urged the residents to stay at home, restrict contacts, follow hygiene rules, keep social distance and apply to doctor in case of any symptoms.
