Not giving names means demonstrating offensive attitude toward whole journalist community: YPC chairman
Numerous issues existed and still exist in Armenian mass media, including the issue of political and business sponsorship, chairman of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
He stressed that the issue exists still from Armenia’s independence day but the authorities do not do anything to eradicate it.
“It is necessary to undertake consistent steps in that direction, there is a need of strategy, but it was not done during the recent two years,” he said.
“The premier must demonstrate more care toward the development and implementation of such like strategy and not keep on expressing his dissatisfaction,” Navasardyan said.
He said that before speaking about “venal” mass media, the country’s prime minister would better present concrete studies.
Navasardyan said there are no such studies.
“If the prime minister is really interested in the issue, it would have been more serious to implement serious research and make conclusions. Not giving any names means demonstrate offensive attitude toward the whole journalist community. It is not what we expect from our leadership. Representative of authority must treat his words more seriously and responsibly,” he said.
