Number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Armenia’s Gegharkunik reaches 47

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province reached 47, governor Gnel Sanosyan said live on Facebook.

He said all the infected are from Vardenis.

“Twelve of them are employees of the hospital, one of them is doctor, we also have 12 confirmed cases in policlinics, two of them are doctors,” he said.

The governor said their issue is to clarify who the first infected is that has infected the doctor and with who else the person contacted.

“With the decision of the commandant the entrance and exist from Vardenis is restricted,” he said.

Sanosyan also stressed that Vardenis hospital is functioning partially.

“In case of necessity the patients will be transported to Martuni medical center,” he said, adding that for already second day the labor service is being provided in Martuni.

The governor also added that over 150 people have already been transported to hotels in Tsakhkadzor and Yerevan.
