With one sentence Lavrov wiped out Armenian authorities’ theses of the past two years: political technologist

Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry tried to reject the statement of the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov but this rejection does not inspire trust, political technologist Armen Badalyan told Aysor.am.

“The rejection by the Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry did not make it clear whether the Russian minister says the truth or not. You have noticed the working style of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who immediately appears live on Facebook to refer to even the most unessential issue and speaks for hours trying to present that he is right while after Sergey Lavrov’s statement Nikol Pashinyan did not refer to it by now, and it gives room for thought. Probably, the Russian FM says it all not only for exerting pressure on Armenia but perhaps he is telling the truth,” the expert said, adding that Lavrov’s words may be close to reality, otherwise Nikol Pashinyan would have immediately rejected them.

“The Armenian PM should have already rejected the statement of the Russian top official about stage-by-stage option of the conflict settlement. If the statement corresponds to reality, Nikol Pashinyan must give explanations as with just one sentence Lavrov wiped out the theses of the Armenian side of the past two years,” the expert said, adding that despite the claims of the Armenian side that negotiations were not held, the reality is that they did.

“It was stated that there is not document, but in fact there is, besides, the Armenian authorities assured that nothing was hidden from the Armenian people but it appears that it was. It was stated that there is no stage-by-stage option of solution of the conflict but there is. Artsakh is Armenia and that’s all, but it appears there is a stage-by-stage option which implies handing some areas. It means that with just one sentence Lavrov wiped out all the four theses of the Armenian authorities,” he said.
