Armenia to have Home Affairs Ministry
The police system will be completely changed after the government approved Police reforms strategy and 2020-2022 action plan stemming from it.
The issues was reported by Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the whole external service of the police must change not only with its form, but with the content as well.
“We will create Home Affairs Ministry and the whole future policy will be implemented by it,” he said, stressing that it was the most widely discussed issue of the past two years.
“We are following this path for the civil sector be clearly separated from the military one and for Armenia’s Police be in special relations with the Home Affairs Ministry and be in its staff. I think it will be one of our key reforms,” the PM said.
