I cannot share Mr Lavrov’s allegation that gas price for Armenia used to be 2-3 times lower from the market one: Armenia’s deputy PM
Armenia’s deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said in separate period of times gas price for Armenia was lower from the market one in comparison but added that he cannot share the allegation of Lavrov that gas price for Armenia has ever been two-three times lower than the market price.
“I consider it necessary to stress another circumstance too – the prior motivation of our application on gas price was the wish of the Russian side to raise the price and not the sharp reduction of international prices of energy bearers. Thus, the thought that we are using the circumstance of price reduction is not right,” Grigoryan said, referring to the statement of the Russian foreign minister.
Referring to the activity of companies acting in Armenia with Russian or any other foreign capital, Grigoryan said that the Armenian government acted and is acting with the principle of ensuring most favorable conditions for their activity.
“The foreign companies, including those with Russian capital are first of all Armenian resident companies and are employers and taxpayers and we have not less interest in creating and ensuring favorable conditions for their regular and effective work. At the same time, the government will not tolerate for any company irrespective of any circumstance act illegally and in this regard we have reached mutual understanding with our Russian partners on the highest political level,” he said.
