Cooperation of opposition must not be an end in itself, there is a need of common agenda: ARF-D representative
The actions, steps and statements of the authorities obviously divide the society into different clusters, ARF-D Supreme Body representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
“There is common atmosphere of hatred, dividing lines have been drawn, the public reconciliation that should have been in our country not only does not exist but on the contrary, what we have is atmosphere and propaganda of hatred and hostility. It is dangerous for each country,” Saghatelyan said.
He said today’s political leadership of Armenia, the executive power that should have been interested in inner stability, public reconciliation are not contributing to it with their steps and actions.
“On the contrary, they escalate the situation more,” the ARF-D representative said.
Asked about the statement of former ambassador of Armenia to the Holy See Mikayel Minasyan about the time of consolidation and making concrete decisions, Saghatelyan said, “In our opinion the political opposition must unite and cooperate not only by calls and statements but with clear agenda that will include concrete and clear issues. If the opposition, be it parliamentary or not, has the same assessment of the issue, the cooperation is very natural. Consequently, the cooperation is not an end in itself, it is agreed with a number of factors and the prior of them is the agenda,” he said, adding that the ARF-D has own political agenda.
“When we speak about uniting, necessity of cooperation of the opposition, we must understand over what issues and with what agenda. It is a necessity for expressing position,” he said, adding that the opposition may cooperate with few agendas.
