People must be allowed to pay utility costs stage-by-stage: Luys faction member
Recently the words of the government and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan contradict one another, with one saying that the situation is under control and the minister responsible for the sector stating with 30-minute difference that the situation is uncontrollable, member of Luys faction of Yerevan Council of Elders Ani Khachatryan told Aysor.am, adding that the situation is the same regarding the power and gas cuts.
“This time as well Nikol Pashinyan took the responsibility to save his subordinate. If people do not have work, do not have financial sources how they can pay utility costs,” she said.
The faction member stressed that the Health Ministry must ensure appropriate conditions for the citizens to return to their regular working regime and earn money to care their living needs.
“If an employee of a trade center was earning 2,000-3,000 AMD daily and now these centers are closed how this person must pay the utility costs. My idea is that in each civilized country the people’s power must not make this people face such situation,” Khachatryan said.
“I do not say that these utility costs must be zeroed, but people must be allowed to make these payments stage-by-stage, otherwise, the state of emergency must be annulled and people be allowed to go to work,” she said.
