Covid-19 patients without symptoms will stay at home

Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan said at the cabinet sitting today that during the past day Armenia has registered a record number of cases.

“We have recorded 134 new cases and the total number makes 2,066…Unfortunately we have 2 cases of deaths making the coronavirus death toll 32. Currently 6 citizens are connected to artificial respiratory devices, 17 people are in extremely grave condition, 59 in grave,” the minister reported.

“In case of such scenario of developments, probably we will soon pass to strategy of not hospitalizing the patients without symptoms or having mild ones. Of course, our approach is to try to hospitalize as much as we can, otherwise it will cause wide spread of the disease,” the minister said, adding that in the 134 cases the majority of the infected were interconnected.

The minister also said they had a case they were always trying to avoid. “We have a case we have always tried to avoid – an infected person participated in funerals,” he said.
