Arsen Babayan demands subjecting My Step deputy Hrachya Hakobyan to responsibility

Advocate Arsen Babayan demands that Prosecutor’s office subject deputy from NA’s My Step faction, brother-in-law of Armenia’s PM, Hrachya Hakobyan to responsibility.

He has prepared an application to submit to the prosecutor’s office, but the doors where closed.

“Of course, it was predictable that the prosecutor office’s doors would have been closed as before coming here, I have already sent the application via e-mail,” Babayan told the reporters.

“The raw of questions presented by deputy Hrachya Hakobyan, in my conviction, was written by the Armenian PM. In general, all the texts published recently and relating to Mr Vanetsyan, are being written by the PM,” the advocate said.

He noted that being representative of the ruling force, the deputy makes absurd, discrediting statement but by using some trick he formulates the statement in a way, he thinks, he will not be subjected to responsibility for defamation, and formulates questions.

“Why Hrachya Hakobyan? We all know that he is member of the PM’s family and his statement may create an impression among public that if member of PM’s family is speaking about it, he is well-informed. But this statement is good only for yellow press,” he said.

“We are speaking about the honor of former director of the National Security Service, high-ranking officer and this statement must at least get political, legal and moral assessment,” Babayan said.
