Some 320 out of 2,386 coronavirus-infected in Armenia are medical workers: minister

The 320 or 13,4% of 2,386 coronavirus cases in Armenia have come to share to medical workers, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan reported.

“Of course, it is a very painful but, we may say, an unavoidable phenomenon,” he said.

“You may probably imagine how difficult it is for the healthcare system when you must cure and isolate a person who must cure the patients. Taking into consideration the circumstance that it is a lasting disease, the medical workers do not implement their duties for considerable period of time,” he said, adding that no death cases have been recorded among the medical workers.

“It is also agreed with the ministry’s instruction to the medical workers over 60 with chronical diseases to stay at home, which though again complicates the situation as many doctors cannot help their colleagues to fight for the lives of patients,” he said.
