Health minister does not exclude growth of coronavirus cases up to 10,000 by the end of May

The growth of coronavirus cases in the near future will be agreed with our behavior, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan told the reporters today.

“The behavior of all of us will show whether we will have 10,000 cases by the end of May or 50,000,” the minister said.

Asked whether they have forecasts over the number of cases by the end of May, Torosyan said the 10,000 he mentioned is very probable.

The minister did not exclude that the lifting of restrictions will promote the spread of the illness.

“But I must also confess that it is somehow unavoidable as it is impossible to live in lockdown. It was to happen one day and we used the time to somehow prepare the healthcare system and introduce behavior rules to people. If for instance the cafes opened a month ago, we would not have behavior rules, while now we have,” he said.
