No one can restrain Armenia’s representatives at the table of negotiations: Pashinyan on Karabakh issue
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sees no issue in meeting with the former presidents of Armenia to discuss the Artsakh issue.
“At the moment, I see such a necessity, I will have no problem in doing it,” the PM said in a press conference today in response to Aysor.am’s question.
Pashinyan said the institutional information about the previously held negotiations exists in the state governance system.
As to the format of conflict settlement, Nikol Pashinyan said he has many times stated about the necessity of participation of Artsakh representatives in the talks.
“We do not imagine reaching solution without the participation of the representatives of Artsakh. I am saying that we have not succeeded to return Artsakh to the table of negotiations like it was not succeeded during the past 22 years when in 1998 Artsakh was left out of the negotiations and for 22 years the whole international community, OSCE Minsk Group worked in such conditions,” Pashinyan said.
As to the peacekeeping forces, Pashinyan said that the idea of deploying peacekeeping forces existed in all previous documents and public statements.
Pashinyan said the Arstakh issue cannot be settled by a caprice of one person.
“Can Karabakh issue be settled with a caprice of one person? Who is this person I want to know,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian premier said that some are trying to restrain the legal representatives of Armenia over the table of negotiations.
“Different people are sitting over the table of negotiations and they may voice the most acceptable options and the most unacceptable. So what? Do they want to create such a situation, to restrain in a way representatives of Armenia close their ears or flee from the table of negotiations? What kind of approach is this?” the premier stressed.
He said no forces in Armenia may restrain them over the table of negotiations.
