There are no irreplaceable people, there is a need to solve institutional issues: Tevan Poghosyan on ex-ambassador’s statement
A political fight is taking place and the parties are free to make their proposals, consultant to Armenia’s President Tevan Poghosyan told Aysor.am, referring to the recent Facebook post of the ex-ambassador of Armenia to Vatican Mikayel Minasyan.
“One says it is necessary to remove the prime minister, the other says it is necessary to form new government, the third says issues still exist. But when we say that something should be changed, the idea must be the following: while proposing something new, we must understand whether this scenario will take to a better place, or it may be a mistake,” he said.
“In reality, I saw proposals in Mikayel Minasyan’s Facebook post, but I did not see the issue of going till the end. Indeed, the changes may occur by new elections, or the NA majority may initiate process itself, but I repeat everything comes to whether it will be done or not and if yes in what form it will be. It is a process to be implemented by constitutional norms, isn’t it? Like new candidate, formation of new government in 20 days, presentation of government’s program during the next 20 days, etc. How will it all happen?” Poghosyan stressed.
He stressed that he has many times stressed about the need to come to political consensus, form table of negotiations when all the political forces sit over these table and discuss all the existing red lines.
Referring to the statement of the ex-ambassador to remove the incumbent PM, Poghosyan said there are no irreplaceable people.
“Are you sure that the new person will not take the situation in the same path in two months? Here we must have united steps by the political forces. You will not change the situation by changing a person. We must decide the solution of institutional issues in a right way, not by changing persons. People will come and go. Sooner or later we will have other type of authorities, in 10 or 15 years. The issue is to solve the issues jointly,” the president’s advisor said.
