Mikayel Minasyan offers political majority to be on height of political responsibility and make necessary decisions: Khosrov Harutyunyan
The government failed to combat the coronavirus effectively and the threats it has caused, former prime minister of Armenia, political figure Khosrov Harutyunyan told Aysor.am, referring to the statement of ex-ambassador of Armenia to Vatican Mikayel Minasyan.
“If we are having 238-300 infected daily, there was no need of declaring state of emergency at all,” he stressed, adding that due to its inactivity or absence of professional activity the government failed to fight against coronavirus.
“If we had different approach from the very beginning with the prime minister and health minister stating there was no need to isolate the arriving passengers, the situation would not be such,” Harutyunyan said, stressing that the government should have understood from the very beginning how difficult it would be to confront the disease and the situation would not be as it is now.
The political figure said the recent statements of the prime minister clearly show that he is very concerned with the created situation but it is already too late for being concerned.
“Speaking about the need to isolate the prime minister from the post, ex-ambassador to Vatican Mikayel Minasyan says that the incumbent authorities do not have capability, strategy to neutralize not only the health but also the economic consequences of coronavirus. Today’s government has proved long ago that it lacks professionalism and skills. Mikayel Minasyan’s concerns are agreed with the necessity to save the economy. This is why he states that the political majority must realize its historic mission and make a decision to replace the premier,” he said.
Wrapping up, Harutyunyan stressed that the government failed to pass the exam of time and history and the parliamentary majority is the one responsible for it.
“This is why the ex-ambassador offers the political majority be on height of the political responsibility and make necessary decisions,” the political figure said.
