Bright Armenia to advance its agenda despite pressures: Edmon Marukyan

Bright Armenia was expecting political assessment to the violence in the NA and was not attending the NA sessions so far but no assessment was given, head of the faction Edmon Marukyan told the reporters today.

“The provocation was legitimated, and we may register that the authorities have fully diverted from the values of the revolution, respect to the opponents. This is already a reality, a registered fact,” Marukyan said.

Referring to the legal side of the incident between him and Sasun Mikayelyan, he said they were called to give explanations and at the end initiation of a criminal case was refused.

“We register that the opposition's speech is being labeled, hitting the person from behind is being justified because it was described as provocation.
Legal procedures do not proceed in the pre-context of rule of law. If opposition is subjected to violence, it is not an issue, another thing is when it is representative of the ruling force. Now we are dealing with justifiers of violence. This is what we have registered during this break,” head of the faction said.

Marukyan called everyone not to have any illusion of diverting the Bright Armenia from its agenda by pressures.

“No one will lower our voice. It is a deep confusion. I assure that we will never subordinate the interest of a citizen and will direct our efforts to having stronger and democratic country. We will not allow our country to regress, we are condemned to move forward. Let them come with fists, hit from behind, we will proceed with our agenda,” Marukyan said.
