Armenia’s Institute of Molecular Biology to produce 1,000-2,000 coronavirus tests daily
In the upcoming days Institute of Molecular Biology of Armenia’s National Academy of Sciences’ will send the coronavirus diagnosis tests of own production to the Ministry of Health for testing, Institute’s director Arsen Arakelyan said during the visit of the RA NAS chairman Radik Martirosyan and academician-secretary of NAS’ Natural Sciences department Ruben Harutyunyan.
The NAS leadership got familiarized with laboratory works of production of tests, got acquainted with the process and developments.
“We have received all the necessary materials for the preparation of 100,000 tests, and now we are testing them. We are working with the Ministry of Health and National Center for Disease Control,” Arsen Arakelyan said, stressing that next week the tests will be sent to the ministry.
He convinced that the tests are very sensitive and may discover the virus even in conditions of its very low concentration.
Arakelyan said after the testing period they are planning to produce 1,000-2,000 tests daily.
