Armenia’s health minister says 316 coronavirus patients are in grave and 53 in extremely grave condition

The situation continues staying tensed, health minister Arsen Torosyan said after session at the Commandant’s office today.

“The measures we are undertaking must be continuously followed for us to manage to keep the daily statistics the same and reduce it to overcome the pandemic,” the minister said, currently 316 patients are in grave condition, 53 in extremely grave. He said 17 patients are on ventilation.

The minister said they continue expanding the beds in intensive unit, stressing that 50 beds will be added in Surb Grigor Lusavorich and 50 in Erebuni medical centers.

Torosyan stressed that the number of deaths during the past day was a record.

“Coronavirus is an unpredictable disease and there is no guarantee that even a healthy young citizen will overcome it by 100%,” he said.
