I have done everything for implementation of goals of the revolution and will follow the path I selected: NSS ex-director

The all Armenians accepted the velvet revolution with great enthusiasm tying big expectations with it, former director of National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan said at the congress of Hayrenik party the president of which he has been elected.

“We did not only accept it, but many of us contributed their experience and skills, enthusiasm to bring into life the goals declared during the revolution. With it we were trying to give new quality, sense and which was the most important new content to the processes each in his sector,” Vanetsyan said.

He stressed that during the whole his conscious life he worked in other sector, served the state and never thought he would ever be a member of a party and moreover head a party.

Explaining his motivation of entering the politics, Vanetsyan said, “I will tell in one word – the responsibility. In each complicated situation the sense of responsibility has always won. Today I have responsibility before the state, society, future generations. I can state with clear conscience that I have done everything to reach the implementation of the goals of the revolution. Of course, it does not meant there were no flaws but I can state for sure that I have not allowed distortion of ideas or diverted from the selected path. I continue following the selected path, getting rid of temporary, sometimes accidental companions,” he said.
