Lukashenko: We do not have “Pashinyans” and “Zelenskis” in Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged not to compare the situation in Belarus with the ones in Ukraine and Armenia, stressing that there are no “Pashinyans” and “Zelenskis” in Belarus, RIA Novosti reports.
“There is no need to compare us and say that we have Pashinyans and Zelenskis here, that we have the same situation as in Armenia and Ukraine. I must say that the situation may develop in different ways, but we do not have Pashinyans and Zelenskis here,” Lukashenko said.
He stressed that irrespective of what happens in Armenia and Ukraine, Zelenksi and Pashinyan are talented people.
“These people are talented and what the most important is, they are patriots of their countries. While here some want to sell what has been created for a penny,” he said, stressing that what has been done in Belarus till now was done not only by president but the people as well.
“Thus we cannot allow it. We will never allow destabilization of the situation in our country,” the president of Belarus said.
Earlier Russian Kommersant published an article about the pre-electoral situation in Belarus, stressing that the presidential elections turn to be a problem for Alexander Lukashenko.
The article said that Belarus blogger Sergey Tikhanovski was not allowed by the country’s CEC participate in the campaign. The author compared the blogger with Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
It also quoted the words of sociologist Andrey Vardomatski who said about similarities he sees with the events in Armenia and Ukraine.
