Incumbent authorities failed fight against epidemic, they must leave a day earlier: Artur Vanetsyan

Aravot.am conducted interview with Hayrenik party president Artur Vanetsyan.

- Mr Vanetsyan you were in Vanadazor yesterday at the opening of the party’s office, and we saw you speaking with party mates, people. Which are the issues the people are concerned with most?

- There are many issues the people are concerned with, starting with the sense of being deceived ending with the feeling of not being protected in the situation of epidemic both from psychologic and livelihood viewpoint.

Many people do not know what will happen tomorrow, they just realize that they are living bad from day to day despite the hopes of living better.

The challenges are growing like an avalanche in all directions. All see and feel it. I am meeting with different people and initiate discussions in different formats.

During these days the main topic of discussions is the situation created in our country. We are very concerned. Very. It is impossible to continue in this way. I will ask you few simple questions – when you look at the surrounding neighbor countries, the steps their governments are undertaking, the tempos of reduction of the disease and compare it with Armenia, what do you think? When you read what plans, what economic projects, tourism plans the countries which are getting rid of coronavirus are already discussing and compare with what is expected in Armenia in the upcoming months what do you think? When you see how the governments and societies of a number of countries became one fist in the fight against pandemic and fought against these deadly wave and compare it with the Armenian reality what do you think? I will say what I think – our country and our people did not deserve to appear in such situation and the incumbent authorities does not worth Armenia.

It is sad, very sad. We are on a threshold of a big disaster. If we do not get serious and undertake steps, it will be very bad. This government has failed the fight against epidemic and must leave a day earlier. Until we solve this issue we should expect just a deepening crisis and criminally big death toll.
