Our intelligence continues controlling the adversary: DM
Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan says change of military culture has been registered in Armenia and a difficult process of elimination of outdated traditions has launched.
“At the same time we have not succeeded in eradication of such phenomena like deniable bad traditions existing in inter-personal relations, non-systematic corruptive manifestations in certain sectors,” the minister said in his vision of development of the defense sector, adding that ideas, steps, efforts and contribution of each person is necessary for eradication of such phenomena.
The minister also stressed that Armenia’s external security environment has not seen any positive changes.
“Just the opposite, in our region and nearby territories, the conflicts are growing… direct military threats continue to be of higher possibility. Thus, the reliable defense system which first of all is contemporary and efficient army continues to be the main collateral in ensuring external security for stable development of Armenia and Artsakh. coming from the positions of dictator of the wish of the people of Artsakh people at the Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiations,” Tonoyan said, stressing that the army is to dictate the wish of the people of Artsakh at the Nagorno Karabakh peace talks.
“Our servicemen continue being deployed in front of our adversary on the state border of Armenia and Artsakh Line of Contact, intensively using new technical means…Our divisions continue improving their skills during the drills, are acquiring new skills… Our intelligence continues controlling the adversary at deeper and larger extend,” he said, adding that the air defense system is implementing every day shift targeting on all the heights more and more possible targets.
“We need to put new issue in front of us to “reach heights,” moreover, while recording flaws in the implementation of any issue, we must multiply our efforts and find more effective alternative solutions,” the minister said in his vision.
