Nairi medical center allocated 10% of its bed fund for covid-patients, but ministry does not give relevant order
Nairi medical center is ready to admit coronavirus-patients, the executive director of the medical center Anatoly Gnuni told Aysor.am.
“We have received an order from the Health Ministry to provide 10% of our bed funds for coronavirus patients which we did,” Gnuni said.
Asked whether they informed the ministry about being ready to admit coronavirus patients, the director said he does not think they should do it.
“You know how it is, when a coronavirus patient appears in “covid” hospital and the infection is confirmed there is a demand to treat the patient in the specialized coronavirus hospital, it is an order, no one has right to keep coronavirus patient,” he said.
Gnuni noted that when they receive a patient who comes to them with high fever, pneumonia, hard breath, it is their medical duty to help the patient.
“We hospitalize the patient with suspected coronavirus. In general we treat each patient entering the hospital as potential coronavirus patient, we are examining him, but the PCR test results are available few days later,” he said, adding that after the patient tests positive they must send him because they have no right to keep covid patients as the ministry did not give such order to them.
“On the contrary, they say you have no right to keep them, you must send them,” Gnuni said.
The executive director of the center stressed that they got ready for receiving covid patients long ago.
“We have prepared even before receiving the order, because we estimated the situation in the world and got prepared for it,” he said, adding that a commission came from the ministry to assess the situation and the only flaw was not having separate entrance.
