Argishti Kyaramyan’s appointment in NSS director’s post is a threat to national security: Artur Vanetsyan
Appointment of Argishti Kyaramyan in the post of the director of National Security Service is threat to national security, president of Hayrenik party, former NSS director Artur Vanetsyan said at Country’s Issue program of Yerkir Media TV.
“Not having any personal issue with Argishti Kyaramyan, I will just give one assessment to his appointment – it is a threat to the national security,” Vanetsyan said, adding that a person not having any management experience, experience in working in security bodies will possess huge information and must make quick and operative decisions over different issues.
“While NSS is not just fight against economic and corruption crimes. The NSS has much more serious issues – intelligence, counterintelligence. For doing such work it is necessary to have a long-term experience,” Vanetsyan stressed.
He said that today Armenia does not have NSS.
“The director of this service as well as the police and other structures is Nikol Pashinyan. He directly interferes in the works of these bodies. Today Pashinyan is trying to make NSS a tool for silencing his political opponents. I am convinced that my former colleagues will try to stay away from this process,” Vanetsyan said.
He also stressed that the NSS has never been influenced by Russia.
“These are just false allegations,” Vanetsyan stressed, noting that different representatives of civil society were getting funds from different countries for carrying out anti-Russian propaganda.
