Coronavirus pandemic number 1 issue of Armenian government

Coronavirus pandemic continues to be the number 1 issue of the Armenian government, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the cabinet sitting today.

“It is necessary to register that our strategy is the following - constantly tighten and ensure compliance with anti-epidemic rules,” he said adding that they view this strategy as the main measure for reaching reduction of the number of infected.

“Today’s 100% discipline will be reflected in the figures in at least one week. Today we see the result of discipline of week ago,” the prime minister said, urging the citizens to follow the anti-epidemic rules – wear masks, disinfect hands and keep social distance.

“The 95% of the cases are agreed with not wearing masks or not keeping social distance or not disinfecting hands,” the prime minister said.

Nikol Pashinyan also stressed that in many cases the infection is being spread during funerals or weddings due to not keeping the anti-epidemic rules.

“In case of necessity punitive measures must be undertaken, but we believe that the positive dynamics is the result of our dialogue,” Pashinyan said.
