Prosecutor General's office to appeal court’s ruling to release Robert Kocharyan on bail
The Prosecutor General’s office will appeal the ruling of the Criminal Court of Appeal to release Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan on bail, official from public relations department of the Prosecutor General’s Office told Aysor.am.
“The prosecutors have many times mentioned that we are in the phase of examination when the risks of unlawful influence of the defendant on people participating in the trial in case of being on freedom as well as attempts to impede the examination of the case are considerably big,” the official said.
The official also said that from the time the case entered the court and until this moment the judicial examination phase has not changed and few times during the discussion of the issue the judge examining the case registered the existence of the risk.
“Thus, we may say that the Prosecutor General’s office will appeal the ruling at the Court of Cassation,” the official said.
Earlier today, the Criminal Court of Appeal released Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan on bail amounting to 2 billion AMD ($4,1 mln).
