Hayrenik party president urges MPs to refrain from instructions of PM, warns about criminal and political responsibility
President of Hayrenik party Artur Vanetsyan issued a statement relating to the constitutional amendments scheduled today at the extraordinary parliament sitting.
“Dear compatriots I had an occasion to state that for keeping his power Nikol Pashinyan will not stop at anything. Today Nikol Pashinyan surpasses himself. What I have voiced during my resignation is becoming a reality today. After the months long disgraceful pressures against the Constitutional Court and CC judges and after the failed referendum with his instruction a draft has been included on the agenda of the NA which possesses a very concrete criminal features of usurpation of power. Nikol Pashinyan is committing group crime, a grave crime – overthrow of the constitutional order, making 88 MPs participants of this crime,” Vanetsyan said in the statement, urging the deputies to refrain from implementing the “illegal instructions of the unbalanced person on the post of the Prime Minister of Armenia.”
“Nikol Pashinyan is driving you to commit a crime, the consequences of which I convince you will be very grave first of all for our state and then for each of you personally. With your today’s voting you will share the criminal and political responsibility of Nikol Pashinyan’s actions,” he said, urging to think well before voting.
Vanetsyan also said that based on the created situation Hayrenik party is initiating creation of Committee of Restoration of Constitutional Order and launches urgent consultations with all the social-political forces concerned with the state’s future.
