Armenia’s PM warns against necessity of another lockdown, says economy may not recover after it at all
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressing people live on Facebook expressed hope that there will be no need to return to lockdown policy.
“For it, we need just one thing – follow the epidemiological measures,” he said.
Pashinyan said that May data inspire hope of quite speedy restoration.
“Our policy in May had a huge economic effect, but unfortunately we do not have good figures regarding the epidemiological measures,” the head of the government said.
He noted that the figures have improved a bit now but the situation continues to be tensed.
“If God forbid, our numbers grow so much that we will be forced to return to lockdown, we will lose not 71,000 but 150,000 jobs and this time the restoration will be either very slow, or it may not be at all,” he said, again urging the citizens wear masks, keep social distance and disinfect hands.
