Robert Kocharyan’s defense team urges Bright Armenia not to speculate second president’s name to justify own inaction toward encroachments against CC

Attorney of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan, Aram Vardevanyan urged deputies from the Bright Armenia faction not to speculate Robert Kocharyan’s name to justify the inaction toward the encroachments against the Constitutional Court.

“Today we have a situation when Bright Armenia faction MPs Edmon Marukyan and Taron Simonyan say that this whole process [constitutional amendments] is unconstitutional, contradicts the principle of the legal state, but we will not submit application. While we show that we have higher values. Let no one speculate the name of Robert Kocharyan to justify the inaction toward the encroachments against the Constitutional Court,” Vardevanyan said.

Earlier today Kocharyan’s defense team withdrew applications from the CC after statement of Bright Armenia faction MPs that they are waiting for the CC to examine Kocharyan’s application after which they will join the initiative of applying to the highest court.
