PAP MPs hand over paper variant of application to the CC

Prosperous Armenia party deputies handed the paper variant of their application to the Constitutional court with 26 signatures of MPs.

The application disputes the compliance of the Constitutional amendments adopted by the parliament on Monday with the Constitution.

“We have just handed over the paper variant to the head of the CC staff. He said there are certain procedures. The issue will be discussed and a decision will be made to start proceeding or not. We have 15 days at most” Naira Zohrabyan said.

Asked whether 26 signatures are enough, Naira Zoharbyan said there are two opinions about it.

“Let neither me give assessments, nor the ministers who have put aside their work and are making mathematical calculations whether the CC may start proceeding or not,” she said.

For applying to the CC the opposition needs to get 1/5 of the total number of MPs. The number for 132 MPs makes 26,4.
