Kocharyan and others trial postponed due to failure of ensuring social distancing
The trial of case on overthrow of constitutional order has been postponed at Yerevan court of general jurisdiction chaired by judge Anna Danibekyan.
The case involves Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan, ex-defense minister Seyran Ohanyan, ex vice prime minister Armen Gevorgyan and ex Secretary General of the CSTO Yuri Khchaturov.
Kocharyan’s attorney Hayk Alumyan said the social distancing is not ensured in the court.
“We should not have been forced to raise the issue, but this problem must be settled immediately,” he said.
Yuri Khachaturov in his turn urged the court to settle all the technical issues before the next hearing.
“I am tired of coming every Tuesday to court and hear that the trial is postponed,” he said.
Judge Anna Danibekyan said the next trial will take place on July 7 at 1 p.m.
