Pashinyan: June 2020 death statistics exceeds the past year’s by 30%
Armenia’s Prime minister Nikol Pashinyan speaking at a briefing today said soon the number of deaths will be not less than ten daily.
“Yesterday we had 525 new cases, the statistics shows that we will unavoidably have ten deaths soon,” he said.
Pashinyan stressed that currently the number of active coronavirus-infected is 19,000 of which 2,106 are in hospitals. He said the condition of 536 of them is grave, the condition of 117 extremely grave.
Some 1,730 coronavirus patients have pneumonia.
The head of the government said the death toll from coronavirus reached 453.
“The death statistics of the first five months of 2020 was satisfactory, we had less deaths as compared with the same span of the past year. Unfortunately, the statistics has changed and in June 2020 we have 30% more deaths than in June 2019,” Pashinyan said.
