NA speaker: I will sign law on CC with great pleasure
Chairman of Armenia’s parliament Ararat Mirzoyan, speaking to reporters today, stated that he would sign the law on Constitutional Court with great pleasure after getting such opportunity by the legislation.
The president of the republic refused to sign the mentioned law.
“I have not spoken with the RA president about this. I have followed the discussions. Two opinions were voiced. A part was claiming that I can sign the law upon receiving letter from the RA president about not signing it,” Mirzoyan said.
He stressed that another group of lawyers from different political camps think that irrespective of the president’s notification, the latter still has 21 days during which he may either change his mind and sign it or apply to the CC.
“After the 21-day term expires, and the president neither signs nor applies to the CC, the NA chairman acquires a legal opportunity to sign or not sign the draft law,” Mirzoyan said.
