Serious campaign against values which make group of people a nation is ongoing, secretary of Prosperous Armenia faction Arman Abovyan said speaking to Aysor.am, referring to the program of combining the subject of History of Armenian Church with the History of Armenians.

He stressed that this campaign has launched not only in Armenia but in the whole world.

“It is a serious issue why the so-called ultra-globalism or as I call them ultra-liberalism and neo fascism in all the countries are trying to humiliate the national traditions and values. The ideology of these directions aims at influencing the 5 main points – family, belief, gender, perception of homeland and everything that makes group of people nation,” the MP said.

Abovian said their opponents cannot answer a simple question – what impedes for History of Armenian Church be a separate subject in schools.

“What is the reason they stubbornly try to humiliate the value of this subject and combine it with another one. They say “should we raise priests from our children?” But I say this subject is not teaching spiritual theses,” Abovian stressed.

“Unfortunately, today we witness attempts of discrediting the church and Christianity,” he said.
