U.S. Department of State to hire specialist to help Armenia fight corruption
The U.S. Department of State is planning to hire a specialist who will help the government of the Republic of Armenia fight against corruption. The mentioned specialist will cooperate with Armenia’s Ministry of Justice and promote reforms, Russia Today reports after getting familiarized with the program of the Department of State.
“The consultant will assist the government of Armenia in creation of new anti-corruption bodies and in raising their efficiency…These bodies will study the corruption cases and bring the corrupt to responsibility,” the document said.
Besides, the specialist must give advice to the Armenian authorities on developing and implementing reforms in law enforcement bodies.
The consultant will also organize training trips, classes for investigators and will manage the projects funded by Washington.
Only U.S. citizens may apply for the position.
It has been reported earlier that the USA plans to spend up to $10 million to promote the anti-corruption policy in Armenia. The project envisages creation of conditions eliminating the opportunities for corruption.
